TUE August 19, JAMES STILLERMAN - Former USNBC and IBF intercontinental super middleweight champ, Joey "The KO Kid" Spina, 22-1-1, 15KO, from Providence, RI battles hard hitting, Jim "Steel Chin" Strohl, 27-6, 21KO, as the co-feature at Twin River on August 22nd. Spina is ranked #13 by the WBO and has won three fights in a row since his loss to Peter Manfredo in October of 2006. His three-fight winning streak came at the light heavyweight rank but for this fight he will be back at the supper middleweight division where he'll look to garner a couple of victories...

The remaining four weekends of the month will feature zero cards aired on premium networks. Such is the state of promotional and network competition in boxing. Thankfully, the competition in the ring matched the competition in the decision makers' desks. Four of the five live fights contested on either HBO or Showtime this weekend saw advanced prospects, title challengers and championship level fighters in tough, contested fights.
