Keeping Up with....Julian Jackson
WED November 26, SHAWN MURPHY - Recently I spoke with former three-time world boxing champion Julian Jackson. Jackson, who fought out of the US Virgin Islands, is often mentioned as one of the hardest punchers of all time. In 2003, Ring Magazine ranked Jackson as the twenty-fifth greatest puncher in boxing history. Jackson's three world titles were won against In-Chul Baek in 1987, Herol Graham in 1990 and Agostino Cardamore in 1995...

Caballero TKO's Molitor in Four!
MON November 24, FRANK GONZALEZ JR. - Friday night at the Casino Rama in Ontario, Steve 'The Canadian Kid' Molitor (28-1, 11 KO's) lost his first pro fight and his Junior Featherweight IBF (122-pound) title in front of his Canadian fans in a short fight against the tall Panamanian, WBA titlist Celestino 'Pelenchin' Caballero (31-2, 22 KO's).

Molitor, who stands at five-foot-seven and is basically a technical boxer that looks to counter-punch his way to victory. He entered the ring undefeated. Celestino Caballero, at five-foot-eleven may be the tallest Jr. Bantamweight I've ever seen...

Versus Stepping Up to the Plate at Time when others are backing off
TUE November 18, ANDRES ANTONIO CARRIEDO - The recent cancellation of ESPN2's 'Wednesday Night Fights' series was not particularly surprising. The subsequent cancellation of Telefutura's 'Solo Boxeo' program, on the other hand, sent some shockwaves to much of the boxing public. I'm not so sure that Boxing Doomsday is quite here, but the cancellation of both shows was definitely a hard one-two on the chin of the boxing industry....

Post Fight Wrap: Bika Stops Manfredo, Brewer Bests Bundrage
TUE November 18, JAMES STILLERMAN - Peter 'The Pride of Providence' Manfredo`s title hopes were dashed Thursday night when referee Ricky Gonzalez stopped the bout 1:57 into the third round. Manfredo was not hurt at the time of the stoppage but he was certainly taking a beat and it was a good stoppage although many of the fans didn`t think so since they were throwing food and other material in the ring after the decision was render....

Taylor Over Lacy via Unanimous Decision
MON November 17, FRANK GONZALEZ JR. - Saturday night in Nashville, former Middleweight titlist and current Super Middleweight contender Jermain 'Bad Intentions' Taylor faced his old Olympic teammate Jeff 'Don't know why they call him Left Hook' Lacy in a WBC title eliminator bout...

Measured Against All Time - Joe Calzaghe
THU November 13, CLIFF ROLD - It shouldn't matter, but it did. Logic said Joe Calzaghe, while only three years younger, had too much in the tank to be troubled much by a man who still looks like Roy Jones Jr. (52-5, 38 KO) but doesn't fight much like him anymore. Boxing though is a sport where passions and memories run deep and seeing is believing. Beating big names is often as important as beating better challenges without them. The nature of Calzaghe's win over Jones, sans logic,

Talking Boxing with Peter Manfredo Jr.
TUE November 11, JAMES STILLERMAN - This Thursday night, November 13th, two 168-lb contenders, Peter "The Pride of Providence" Manfredo Jr. (31-5, 16KO) and Sakio "The Scorpion" Bika (26-3-2, 16KO) collide in a pivotal match up for the vacant IBO super middleweight belt at the newly renovated Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. This twelve-round bout is being called "Tough and Test"...

Calzaghe Dropped, but Cruises versus Jones Jr.
MON November 10, FRANK GONZALEZ JR. - Saturday night in NYC's Madison Square Garden, former Light Heavyweight King Roy Jones Jr. (52-5, 38 KO's) faced LHW/Super Middleweight King, Joe Calzaghe (46-0, 32 KO's) in a 12 round contest that saw Calzaghe go down in the first round from a lightning fast Jones' right that he didn't even see. Calzaghe looked hurt but got up and upped his output until the bell ended the round. It was high drama as the faded former super star looked like a possible legend killer spiller.

Darchinyan and Dirrell Continue Road to Redemption
MON November 3, ANDRES ANTONIO CARRIEDO - It's funny how one performance can define a fighter. Vic Darchinyan's one punch KO loss to Nonito Donaire coupled with his bizarre claim in the immediate aftermath of the fight that he had not been KO'd seemed to define him as a cocky, one dimensional slugger who could be felled by a skilled counter puncher. While Andre Dirrell still seems to be known to many US boxing fans as 'the guy who ran his way to a boring decision victory over Curtis Stevens' rather a former amateur standout and top rising contender in the very tough 168 lb division.

Road to True Unification Possible as Darchinyan KO's Mijares
SUN November 2, FRANK GONZALEZ JR. - Saturday in Carson California, IBF Super Flyweight titlist Vic Darchinyan (31-1-1, 25 KO's) knocked out former WBA/WBC titlist Christian Mijares (36-4-2, 14 KO's) in the ninth round with a powerful, straight left that saw Mijares downed and out.

This victory rendered Darchinyan the possessor of three of the four major title belts in the 115 pound division. Darchinyan is now one belt away from being the only man in boxing to possess all four major titles. That would make him, 'The Undisputable Champion'...
