Rico back to being Suave
SUN, November 12 “JC” Jerry Casarez - Friday night in Montebello, CA Ed Holmes All Star boxing series brought us the return of Light Heavyweight contender Rico “Suave” Hoye. This would be the second win for Hoye since traveling to England in 2005 and losing to Clinton Woods in a challenge for the Light Heavyweight crown.
Hoye would score a 10th round TKO over the always tough Sam Hill. With the win Rico improves his record to 20-1 (15ko). With the loss Hill’s record falls to 17-7(10ko). Hoye’s lone loss coming at the hands of current IBF Light Heavyweight Champion Clinton Woods. Much has changed since that dreadful night in England which took place 18 months ago. Rico showed the body punching and crisp jab that lead him to that title shot. Look for Hoye to fight again sometime in December before the year end as he continues his road back to the Light Heavyweight title in 2007.
