Cintron: "Only guys ranked in the top 10 by Ring Magazine"

10/11 - Coming off an 8th round TKO win over Teddy Reid in July for the WBO interim Welterweight Title, rising star Kermit "The Killer" Cintron is getting his fair share of fight requests, most notably a recent challenge by top veteran Ray Oliveira. Cintron has returned to the gym to work on his strength and conditioning with coach Joe Pastore as he allows his hand to heal, which was injured in the Reid bout. While Cintron anticipates WBO champ Antonio Margarito's next move, he wants to remain active only against top 10 fighters at 147. Kermit offers his take on his future...

In response to statements made by both Hicklet Lau and Ray Oliveira, first I will address Hicklet Lau. I knocked him senseless with one punch [12-12-2003]. To say that stoppage was premature is a ridiculous statement. Watch the tape. Lau was hurt and hurt bad. If that fight were allowed to continue he may have found himself waking up in the hospital.

Not to mention I went into the ring battling not only him, but also a 102 degree temperature and the flu which I got the day I left for Arizona to fight him. I won all but one round and scored a KO over him. End of story. Ray will never see the top 10 again, so he will never see me in the ring. I am looking for challenges that will move me forward in my career and closer to the undisputed welterweight title. Lots of fighters get on the internet and talk about how they are going to beat me or want to fight them. Zab Judah turned down a fight with me on HBO. Lau, Reid, and Ortiz all talked trash about how they were gonna beat me. They were all knocked out. BRUTALLY!

People keep talking about all my flaws or my lack of experience. Meanwhile, I kept winning and knocking people out. Seems the current talk is taking me onto deep water. Well I have KOCKOUTS in the 5th, 6th, 8th, and 9th rounds. One punch knockouts! I fought three times while battling the flu and still KO'd two out of the three guys I fought while sick.

So to all you guys that wanna talk here is some advice. Go fight your way into the top 10 like I did, and stop trying to talk your way to the top. Real fighters fight!
