Undefeated heavyweight contender Juan Carlos Gomez (36-0) will be featured this Saturday on HBO "Night of the Young Heavyweights" as part of the Joe Mesi-DaVarryl Williamson undercard. Gomez, the former WBC cruiserweight champion, was preparing to take on undefeated Sam Samil Sam, but there has been a minor hiccup. Sam is yet to pass an examination, however, Gomez will still fight on the card and the opponent is being worked on as we speak. In a recent interview with TalkingBoxing, Gomez said, "I am training extremely hard, with lots of fire and energy. It has been a year since I have had a fight, so I am giving it my 100 percent in training." TalkingBoxing recently shot some excellent footage of Gomez training for his upcoming fight.
