With Roy Jones Jr.'s shocking defeat, who will be the new king of the light heavyweights? Certainly not Antonio Tarver...yet. Tarver has not been put to the test the the Light Heavyweight class and although he is the only one to date to give Roy his Legitimate loss to his career and also the only one to knockout Roy Jones Jr., he has not fought the same calibre of fighters that Jones has.
Jones has fought fighters such as James Toney, Virgil Hill, Vinny Pazienza, Bernard Hopkins, John Ruiz, Jorge Vaca, Merqui Sosa, Reggie Johnson, Eric Lucas, Mike McCallum and many more.
With all those accomplishments in the ring, many believe that Roy Jones will fight Tarver for the third time in a rubber match that would be highly anticipated. Roy will have to decide very soon with what he wants to do with his career, remember that time is definately not on Roy's side. Roy says that he would rather fight in the Heavyweight division and take on either Vitali Klitschko or James Toney in a rematch providing they have a title or he would fight Mike Tyson, Title or not.
So what will he do, will he retire or re-acquire a title by either avenging his loss to Tarver or claim a title for the second time in the Heavyweight division? Well looks like over the next few days or weeks we will hopefully get an insight on Roy Jones and find out what he wants to do with his career.
No Matter what happened in the fight against Tarver, Roy's place in boxing history is in concrete and no-one will ever exploit such great ring credentials in that division ever. Roy Jones is a Hero to the sport, and everybody is on the edge of there seats now waiting for indication.
So whats it going to be? Retire or Re-Acquire?
