Riding an 11 fight win streak and ranked in the Top 3 by all the major organizations, Robert Allen (35-4) has earned a shot once again at undisputed middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins. Allen has lost to Hopkins twice but had this to say, "the first time I was ready and he wasn't ready, and you saw what happened in that fight. The second time he was ready and I wasn't ready. So the the third fight we will both be ready, so we can see what happens then." Allen will get his shot with Hopkins but in the meantime would like to "mix it up" with prospect Jermain Taylor. "He is supposed to be prestige, HBO, top ten, and maybe he is a money fighter. I am at the top too, so we should mix it up, that is what top fighters do." TalkingBoxing's Julius Stecker caught up with Robert Allen for a quick discussion.

Top Middleweight, Robert Allen

Julius Stecker: When is your next fight going to be Robert?

Robert Allen: Not Certain

Julius Stecker: You are on a 12 fight win streak, do you think right now you are in your prime?

Robert Allen: No, I don't believe in prime, I am hungry

Julius Stecker: Everywhere you look, you read news reports about Hopkins-Joppy, and they always seem to leave you out of the equation, does that effect you at all?

Robert Allen: They always knock me out of the equation, so I am used to it, it doesn't really bother me

Julius Stecker: I recently read that you are not too impressed with Jermain Taylor, so what is your true impression of him?

Robert Allen: I have no impression of him, I think he is a good fighter, but I want to mix it up with him. He is supposed to be prestige, HBO, top ten, and maybe he is a money fighter. I am at the top too, so we should mix it up, that is what top fighters do.

Julius Stecker: Right now if you had a choice who would you want to fight most?

Robert Allen: Bernard Hopkins, the first time I was ready and he wasn't ready, and you saw what happened in that fight. The second time he was ready and I wasn't ready. So the the third fight we will both be ready, so we can see what happens then.

Julius Stecker: I have seen you fight, and you are a very well rounded fighter, but how would you describe your style?

Robert Allen: My style is my opponents worst nightmare, when I am in shape I am my opponents worst nightmare. The first Hopkins fight I was in shape and you saw what happened, you saw what happened when I was in shaped when I fought Tito Mendoza, that is what I am capable of when I am in shape

Julius Stecker: Who is your favorite fighter to watch?

Robert Allen: James Toney, Roy Jones Jr, but mostly James Toney.

Julius Stecker: Who wins Toney-Holyfield?

Robert Allen: I don't like to predict, but I know nobody hits James Toney on the button, no matter how much power Holyfield has.

Julius Stecker: In closing, what do you have to say to Hopkins, Joppy, and Taylor?

Robert Allen: I'll make you famous, like Billy the Kid said, I'll make you famous.

TalkingBoxing.com would like to thank Robert Allen for taking time out of his busy schedule to talk with us and we will be rooting for a big win in his next fight.
