TalkingBoxing.com spoke with fan favorite, Gary "Tiger" Balletto (28-1-2), who puts his IBU lightweight belt on line July 25th at Foxwoods Casino versus Luis Lizarraga (31-27-4). Balletto is coming off a very impressive 4th round KO of Frank Houghtaling in May of this year and with double sessions of training, look for Balletto to end this fight quick! Balletto's only loss was to Michael Clark in October of 2002, but Balletto says he "learned a lot" and like a true professional, wants a rematch.

      Gary Balletto

Julius Stecker: How is training going right now Gary?

Gary Balletto: Training is difficult right now, I am really burnt out and tired, I am doing double sessions of training, then I am also juggling my contruction business

Julius Stecker: What do you know about you next opponent Luis Lizarraga?

Gary Balletto: I know he is really tough, he is coming off a tough fight with David Santos, but in this fight I want use my boxing skills on Lizarraga.

Julius Stecker: Do you think your punching power will be to much for Lizarraga?

Gary Balletto: I hope so (laughing)

Julius Stecker: There are a lot of oppurtunities right now in the lightweight division, do you think an impressive performance here can springboard your career

Gary Balletto: A good performance here will put me in a main event on ESPN2, and a possible a bigger money fight

Julius Stecker: How would you describe your style as a fighter?

Gary Balletto: A Puncher

Julius Stecker: Do you think lightweights are afraid of your punching power?

Gary Balletto: Yes they shy away from my punching power, nobody wants to to take the risk to fight me in co-features, they are not willing to risk it, the only way people would fight me is if it were a money fight..

Julius Stecker: You have seemed to learn a lot from your loss from Michael Clark, but what specifically have you learned from that fight?

Gary Balletto: I learned a lot, I learned I have to push myself harder, I am always in great shape, but ultimately I would like to fight Clark again for the NABF belt.

Julius Stecker: Is there anybody you really would like to fight?

Gary Balletto: Arturo Gatti, that is where the money is at.

Julius Stecker: That would be an exciting fight, but moving on from boxing a little, tell us about your life outside of the ring.

Gary Balletto: I am a general contractor, a builder, and I do that regularly and I enjoy it, right now I do more building then remodeling.

Julius Stecker: What do you have to say to your fans before your fight on July 25th?

Gary Balletto: I am here for the fans, I am here to put on great performances for the fans, the fans make us fighters who we are.

TalkingBoxing.com would like to thank "Tiger" for taking time out of his busy schedule to talk with us and we will be rooting for a big win on July 25th at Foxwoods Casino.
