Interview with FITZ VANDERPOOL
"I will be victorious July 26th"

    In a TalkingBoxing.com exclusive interview, our own Julius Stecker spoke with the #1 WBC light middleweight, Fitz Vanderpool (24-4-4) about his upcoming war with Fernando Vargas at the Olympic Auditorium on July 26th. With a win, Vanderpool gets a shot at the interim WBC champion, Javier Castillejo. Another win would vault Vanderpool into a mega fight with the winner of the September 13th mega fight bewtween Shane Mosely and Oscar De la Hoya. Vanderpool believes the momentum is on his side and wants to silence his critics once and for all.

Julius Stecker: How is training going right now?

Fitz Vanderpool: Training is going great in preparation to be Victorious July 26th

Julius Stecker: As you probably know most people aren't giving you a shot in this fight, but what problems do you feel you present for Fernando Vargas?

Fitz Vanderpool: Most people are not going to be in the ring July 26th, I will present the unexpected in this fight.

Julius Stecker: You are on a roll as of late, undefeated in 7 fights, while your opponent is coming off a devastating defeat do you feel that the momentum is on your side in this fight?

Fitz Vanderpool: I am definately on a roll, I believe the momentum is on my side and I will keep on rolling..

Julius Stecker: Would would a win over Fernando Vargas mean to your career?

Fitz Vanderpool: The win will mean a lot to my career and will help to silence some of the critics.

Julius Stecker: Do you plan on showing Vargas lots of movement and giving him a lot of jabs, a strategy that worked well for De La Hoya?

Fitz Vanderpool: We have several plans that we are working on for this fight. If a plan is not successful we'll go to B and then C if need be.,

Julius Stecker: How does it feel to be able to fight at a historic fight venue like the Olympic Auditorium?

Fitz Vanderpool: It will be a great rush to be able to fight in such a place as the Olympic and make History there

Julius Stecker: Switching gears a little, Fitz, you are known throughout Canada for your community and charity work, tell us about that?

Fitz Vanderpool: As you can see from my web site www.fitzthewhip.com I do alot of charity and community work in Canada not because I have to but because I want to. I have been blessed with the talent and skills that I have and I believe it is my calling to help others less fortunate than myself

Julius Stecker: What else do you enjoy doing outside of the ring?

Fitz Vanderpool: I enjoy running my WHIP boxing academy and spending time with family and friends, but nothing compares to the cherished time that I spend with my son Tremain,he's a blessing

Julius Stecker: What do you plan on doing when your career is over?

Fitz Vanderpool: When my career is over I 'll continue to run my Boxing academy and promote boxing show and continue to be a great community leader...

Julius Stecker: In closing what do you have to say to your fans back in Canada?

Fitz Vanderpool: To my fans friends and family back in Canada, I'd like to say thanks for the support and for believing in me. I will be Victorious July 26th.
