Interview with Top Ten Junior Middleweight, Angel Hernandez

"I give everything I can and I am on my way to the top"

"Toro" is 25-3
      Rated in the top 15 by the major sanctioning bodies as well as a former NABF light middleweight champion, Angel Hernandez (25-3), is looking to re-establish himself as a top 154-pound contender. Tough and determined with an exciting style, he recently stepped up his class of opposition and scored two of his career-best wins and broke into the world ratings. He is, however, coming off a loss in his last fight, a rematch against J.C. Candelo, but is still moving forward. He is 11-2 in his last 13 fights and personally feels in his prime. TalkingBoxing.com's Julius Stecker caught up with Hernandez for a brief interview.

      Interview with Angel Hernandez

Julius Stecker: First off great fight on the July 10th, and how is your eye doing?

Angel Hernandez: I am doing pretty well, and my is eye is ok, I am also starting training next week

Julius Stecker: What are your plans right now?

Angel Hernandez: I need to talk to my manager and to my promoter, but now I really don't know

Julius Stecker: Do you think after such an impressive performance will be a spring board for a big money fight

Angel Hernandez: Yeah, feel I did real well and I felt I did really good, so I hope this fight will open doors for me

Julius Stecker: Do you think you are coming into your prime right now as a fighter?

Angel Hernandez: A feel very well, and I would say yes

Julius Stecker: I talked to Bobby Hitz a month or so ago, and he said Fernando Vargas wanted no part of you, would you want to fight him?

Angel Hernandez: Yes, I want to fight the best and Vargas is one of the best, so yes definitely

Julius Stecker: In September, we have a superfight between Oscar De La Hoya and Sugar Shane Mosley, who wins that fight?

Angel Hernandez: De La Hoya

Julius Stecker: Would you fight De La Hoya?

Angel Hernandez: Yes, I would love a fight with De La Hoya, it would make me very happy to fight De La Hoya

Julius Stecker: What do you have to say to your fans Angel?

Angel Hernandez: Expect the best from me, I give everything I can, and I am on my way to the top.
