Jose Celaya, 23-2, takes on Alphonso Williams on the upcoming undercard of the Winky Wright-Shane Mosley re-match this Saturday on the off-tv portion. The 23-year old Celaya doesn't know much about his opponent other than he is tough, but had had a great camp sparring with some top talent, nonetheless.
"This has been my best training camp. I have been training hard. I have been sparring with Shane Mosley, and with Robert Guerrero. I am doing it like it is supposed to be done," said Celaya. Jose also enjoys the assistance of one of boxing's top trainers in Emanuel Steward saying, "I feel with Manny helping me out, I can accomplish my goal of becoming a world champion."

JOSE CELAYA
Julius Stecker: How is training going?
Jose Celaya: Training is going great. This has been my best
training camp. I have been training hard. I have
been sparring with Shane Mosley, and with Robert
Guerrero. I am doing it like it is supposed to be
done. I would say I am in the best shape of my life.
Julius Stecker: What do you know about your next opponent?
Jose Celaya: I really don’t know anything about him, except
that he is tough.
Julius Stecker: Tell me what is like having the backing of a
boxing legend like Emanual Steward?
Jose Celaya: Manny is a true blessing. I have been just
blessed to have Manny managing me. It has been since
May of last year where we were just starting to get to
my goals. But I feel with Manny helping me out, I can
accomplish my goal of becoming a world champion.
Julius Stecker: Tell me about your sparring experiences with
Sugar Shane Mosley and Robert Guerrero?
Jose Celaya: Shane Mosley is a great, great fighter, and we
know each other styles. Shane is such a strong
fighter, he has a strong upper body, and he has speed
too, and that makes him effective. Robert Guerrero is
a big strong featherweight, and he is a tough southpaw
as well.
Julius Stecker: What do you think of Shane’s chances against
Winky Wright on November 20th?
Jose Celaya: I think people are going to be surprised. Shane
is a great fighter, and he is in such great shape.
Winky is a tough champion, and it going to be a great
fight. But I just think people are going to be
surprised by Shane.
Julius Stecker: What is going to be your strategy in this
upcoming fight?
Jose Celaya: I am just going to go out there and go to the
body. I am going to throw a lot of body shots.
Julius Stecker: Looking back at your career so far, what fight
would you say is the fight that you learned the most
from?
Jose Celaya: My last loss, that was the fight that I learned
the most from. I just got too overconfident in there,
and I put my guard down. Then I got hit with a good
shot to the temple.
Julius Stecker: In closing what can we expect against Alphonso
Williams on November 20th?
Jose Celaya: I am going to be fast and strong. I am going to
show a lot of head movement. They are going to be
surprised by what I will bring. I will be doing a lot
of boxing.
