Miguel "Macho" Hernandez is an extremely blessed individual, thanks in large part to the support of his family, friends and fans. Hernandez has established himself as a gifted prizefighter, who has won a big following in Chicago with his exciting fighting style. Some would say Miguel is living a dream, and Miguel would be the first to agree. TalkingBoxing.com caught up with the jr. middleweight prospect to get his views on his upcoming main event this Friday, June 4th at the De Paul Athletic Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Miguel, 10-1, 7 KO, stated, "Everything is going good. We will be
fighting a tough guy on June 4th, so I am expecting a super tough fight."
In Miguel's last fight on May 15th, he was pushed by an ever-tough Luis
Lopez, a fight that he won a uniamous decision in. He feels that that
experience has made him a better fighter. He explains, "I showed people
that I could stick to a game plan. I showed that I could outbox a tough guy.
People were saying they did not see me move my head, but I moved my
head in that fight. If you look at Lopez, most of his fights were at
Light-Heavyweight, and he knocked some of those guys out, so I showed I
can take a punch too."
One reason this fight card is special is because Miguel will be
fighting for the Illinois State Jr. Middleweight Title, but the main reason this fight card will be special is because Miguel's son will be fighting on the
undercard, in an amateur bout. 8-year old amateur standout Joshuah
"Little Macho" Hernandez, will engage in amateur encounter that has his father
more excited about that bout then his own.
"His fight means more to me then the state title does. He is my real
idol. I look up to fighters like Felix Trinidad, Julio Cesar Chavez, Sugar Ray
Leonard, and Marvin Hagler. But I have 3 boys and I love them all
dearly. Being a good father means a lot to me."
This Friday will be a big day for Miguel and his family, and in the end he
is looking to come out victorious in his quest to make a name for himself
in the sport on boxing.
"June 4th I will give my heart to my fans, to me my fans are my family.
I am
dedicating this fight to them. I will show them the heart I have, and I
know
this will be a tough fight. Win or Lose I will give my best."
