One in a Million on ESPN2, James Expects Big Show
TUE May 31, JULIUS STECKER - This has been huge year for boxing in the city of Chicago. Fans have had the recent Lamon Brewster-Andrew Golota heavyweight title fight and August 20th promises to be a huge night of HBO boxing, when Fernando Vargas fights in the Windy City at the All State Arena.

All eyes in the Windy City boxing scene will focused on ESPN2’s Tuesday Night Fights at the Ho-Chunk Southland Sports and Expo Center in Lynwood, IL. The main event features what guarantees to be an excellent main event for the IBF jr. featherweight championship. The bout that will be taking place is a match-up between champion Israel Vasquez, 37-3, and challenger Armando Guerrero, 20-3-6. Throw in world rated super featherweight Daniel Seda and what you have is an excellent night of boxing, on Tuesday no less.

The focus of One in a Million CEO and Co-promoter Octavius James will be on his fighters namely, the exciting young Jermain White, and tough Shay Mobley. The pair battle on tonight's undercard and both have the makings of becoming top prospects in the game. TalkingBoxing.com caught up with James to get his take on the card and much more.

“It is going to be a barn burner right out of the gate,” explained James. “There are going to be some excellent fights on the card.”

Many Chicago fight fans know of a lot of James’s fighters, namely the aforementioned White, Mobley, also included in that bunch is Johnny Novak, Ali Supreme and Jimmy Holmes, James is hoping that this fight card will bring more success to his young and upcoming stable of fighters and one day a chance to shine in their own main-event on ESPN2.

Recently one of James’s top fighters suffered a severe setback, when Ali Supreme lost in a shocker to an unknown fighter, Carl Gathright, who had a 2-6 record. While James was disappointed in the out come of that fight, he believes Supreme can get back to where he belongs.

“Ali beat himself that night. First things first, he will have to get himself right. But after he does that absolutely will take a rematch so Ali can set the record straight,” stated James.

James also had his mind on another fight card this past Saturday, and one fighter in particular, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. James believes a couple of his fighters would more then stands a chance against the young Chavez. Two of his guys in particular, Johnny Novak and Jermain White.

“They have both worked hard enough to earn that opportunity, and that is a fight we would definitely want.”

Looking at the future, One in a Million has a pair of ESPN2 cards planned, as well a big upcoming show on July 8th, so things are definitely looking up for James and the One in a Million team. After tonight’s show things will definitely be looking up.
