TalkingBoxing caught up with undefeated, star boxer Jermain White to get his take before his bout on the undercard...
TalkingBoxing: Grade your performance against Chris Regular? {White won a 6-round decision on August 18th.]
Jermaine White: Easy work. I thought he would have put up a much better fight than what he did. The time I seen him he was much much tougher. But in our fight he did a lot of holding.
TalkingBoxing: Being 10-0 right now, do you feel it is time to step up the opposition?
Jermaine White: Most definitely. I am ready for who ever or whatever. I have been talking with Octavius (referring to Octavius James CEO of ONE IN A MILLION INC.) and he has a lot of great plans coming up for me. There's Chavez, Jr., Lamont Peterson, Louis Brown are some of the names that are out there. And I'm ready to step up and fight any of those guys.
TalkingBoxing: Do you know who your opponent is tomorrow, September 30th?
Jermaine White: No, But I been training really hard and I'm in the best shape of my life. So I've told my team bring him and I will beat him.
TalkingBoxing: Are you looking to fight a few more times this year, maybe in November and December?
Jermaine White: Of course Julius. My team have me set to fight for the Indiana State Title on October 21st at the Caesars Casino in Indiana. I can't wait to show case my talent and win my first title on my way to many more major titles.
TalkingBoxing: Looking at Chicago boxing in general, what is your opinion of all the HBO, Showtime evets coming to the area as of late?
Jermaine White: I think it is great for the Midwest that big time boxing is coming back. That just sets the stage for me and my stable mates like Mike Walker, Johnny Novak and Shay Mobley. So when it is our time.
TalkingBoxing: Let's look through the crystal ball, do you see yourself one day being a part of those cards?
Jermaine White: Soon! You know ONE IN A MILLION INC. is taking me in that direction now.
TalkingBoxing: In the short term, give us a prediction for September 30th?
Jermaine White: That I will come and give my fans the best fight I can give them.
TalkingBoxing: Is there anything you would like to say in closing?
