Brewster Stops Kransniqi, keeps WBO title
WED September 28 - Lamon Brewster successfully defended his WBO heavyweight championship on Wednesday by scoring a ninth-round technical knockout of German Luan Krasniqi.
The fight took place on the 100th birthday of German sport idol Max Schmeling, who passed away in February at the age of 99. Schmeling was infamous for his bouts with "The Brown Bomber" Joe Louis.

Krasniqi (28-2-1), whose hometown is Rottweil, Germany, came into this bout following a sixth-round knockout of Lance Whitaker in a heavyweight eliminator clash on May 28. He captured the bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
