Best Damn Heavyweight Period: James Toney
WED March 1 - The FSN’s television lights are on twice this week for James Lights Out Toney, as he will grace the airwaves with a pair of appearances on FSN’s Best Damn Sports Show Period.

All this week the extremely popular nightly sports variety show hosted by Chris Rose, John Salley, Rob Dibble and Rodney Peete will celebrate the occasion of its 1000th episode. Toney, who will challenge WBC heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman for the title in Atlantic City in less than three weeks, has been a frequent guest on the show and will appear this Wednesday night, March 1st. The telecast begins at 10:30 pm.

Toney will follow up that appearance two nights later as guest commentator this Friday night (March 3rd), as Best Damn Sports Show Period televises an exciting card of professional boxing presented by Goossen Tutor Promotions.

In the main event, top world middleweight contender Sam King Soliman (31-8, 12 KOs), of Australia, will take on Topekas Raul El Toro Munoz (17-7, 14 KOs) in a 10-round middleweight bout. Soliman, who recently impressed boxing insiders and fans alike with an impressive performance in a narrow and somewhat controversial loss to Ronald Winky Wright this past December on HBO, is the new darling of boxing and will bring his relentless style sure to please the FSN viewing audience.

The co-feature pits former 2-time world heavyweight title contender Kirk Johnson (36-2-1, 26 KOs) and hot Mexican prospect Javier Mora (19-2-1, 17 KOs) in a scheduled 10-round battle. The only losses for the Canadian-born Johnson, now living in Dallas, TX, were by disqualification to WBA champion John Ruiz and a stoppage by the recently retired Russian giant Vitali Klitschko. Mora, who lives in nearby Anaheim, CA, is a knockout artist who is being guided by James Toney.

Toney observed, I feel like family to the whole FSN team and especially my boys on ˜Best Damn and I love being a big part of their first 1,000 shows. After beating Rahman on March 18th look forward to the Best Damn Heavyweight Champion making a lot more appearances during the next 1,000 shows.

Calzaghe Starts Countdown to End Lacy's Reign
WED March 1 - Today in Manchester, England WBO Super Middleweight Champion Joe Calzaghe began the symbolic countdown that will culminate in the downfall of IBF Champion Jeff Lacy. The Welshman confidently predicted that the American's brief title reign, lengthened by the consumption of such recycled Calzaghe victims such as Omar Sheika and Robin Reid, will come to an end shortly after 2AM early Sunday morning at the cavernous M.E.N Arena. As the focal point of promoters Sports Networks' talent packed evening, the occasion will mark the first time that Lacy will enter the ring facing a true champion. Team Calzaghe trusts that the understandable concerns of Lacy fans will be allayed by the scheduled delivery of a large floral arrangement to Lacy's private post-fight suite at Manchester General Hospital.  Tickets to Judgement Day can be purchased at www.joecalzaghe.com and those unable to attend in person can watch the broadcast of Calzaghe's triumphant unification on ITV in the UK starting at 11:10PM GMT while those in the US can tune into Showtime's transmission commencing at 9PM ET/PT.

“I prefer to fight southpaws because they think they have an advantage over me.
